Charmagne Glass-Tripp
Gripp Music division is led by Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Charmagne Tripp. With over 20 years of experience in the music business she earned her Grammy writing and singing the hook for Eminem’s smash comeback single “We Made you” which won Best Rap Album in 2009.
Performing in the styles of Neo-Soul, Jazz, R&B, Swing, and Blues. Her warm, clear tone captivates listeners and leaves them wanting more. Aside from writing and recording five albums, she has toured internationally, held residencies in Asia, and performed in various professional musical theater productions. She has been the lead singer for well know regional bands "Eight To The Bar" and "Mass-Conn-Fusion” and continues to perform with her own band but spends less of her time on stage and has shifted her focus to production, community and mentoring artists as Creative Director for Gripp Productions.
Charmagne's influences are powerhouses like Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, and Toni Braxton. Along with their body of work, she covers artists like Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, Janelle Monáe, and similar artists that provide a laid back and soulful vibe. Her performance style is smooth and engaging; each show aims to give guests a pleasant musical experience while playing host throughout. A good fit for brunch, dinner, or cocktail hours, as well as lounges, Jazz/Supper clubs, and small theater entertainment.
When off stage, Charmagne spends lots of her time working with Social Justice organizations and is passionate about the ethical treatment of animals. She tries to incorporate the principles of Ahimsa, non- violence toward all living things, in her daily life. She believes in living mindfully and intentionally, enjoys entertaining and creating, and is a pusher of positive vibes.
